A Glimpse Into Grassois Exports To Brunei {The 5th Sense in the News}

There is a whole part of the perfume economy in Grasse that seems to be dedicated to copying existing perfumes rather than creating new ones. After a couple of sniffs taken at Jeanne Arthès' so-called "creations"from Grasse, a brand which periodically advertises new releases giving the semblance of real launches, we had to conclude that the artistic direction of the house was simply to offer copy-cats of famous perfumes.......

An article in the Borneo Bulletin offers another glimpse into the perfume dupes labels and market developed by Grassois firms. This time we hear about a label titled "Lou Anne" which will be the main staple of a new perfume bar opening tomorrow in the capital city of the Sultanate of Brunei in Bandar Seri Begawan,

"Its concept is unique: Customers can bring their own empty bottle or choose from Mercier's collection of refillable perfume bottles and purchase the desired amount from the perfume bar.

Lipstick size perfumes are also available for the convenience of the ladies, perfect to be carried in handbags. Mercier Boutique, the master franchise for 'Lou Anne' perfume in Brunei, brought in 22 different types of fragrances resembling designer perfumes at affordable prices."

If everything works out fine there will be more Lou Anne perfumes to choose from, up to 50.
