Dear Madelyn,
I presume that if they are opening a series of new boutiques it is because they have assessed that demand is not met or could be developed. They did not say they were going to close down at B-G.
I remember the time when you had to go to the Guerlain perfumery itself to get their products in Paris. If you went a bit outside of Paris like to Neuilly, then there were small local perfumeries carrying their perfumes. Now the brand has counters in department stores and is much more widely distributed.
