Mariah Carey Luscious Pink (2008) {New Perfume} {Celebrity Fragrance}

Pop singer Mariah Carey has been working on the sequel to M and the result called Luscious Pink is apparently above-and-beyond-the-call-of-duty. Described as a sparkling floral, it mimics at one point the high-pitched notes Mariah Carey is capable of hitting while the perfumers say they were more generally inspired by the enveloping sensation of Mariah's voice. Said the singer,

"Elizabeth Arden has been a fantastic partner and the end creation of Luscious Pink is beyond my expectations,"

Judging from M, which was good, one can hope that the new collaboration with perfumers Carlos Benaim and Loc Dong has given birth to another inspired celebrity fragrance.

The Japanese market was kept in mind this time as Carey wants to reach out to her fan base in that country......

A sense of continuity with M is evident not only in the look of the bottle but in some elements of the scent itself which offers again an oceanic accord and a gourmand touch, the marshmallow note being replaced by a Bellini one (sparkling Italian wine with white peach purée and a dash of raspberry or cherry juice).

The perfume has "top notes of Sicilian bergamot, Ocean Breeze accord and sparkling Bellini accord; a heart of Tahitian Tiare petals, lily of the valley and pink peony, and a drydown of bright blond woods, creamy sandalwood and white musk,"

"The collection includes eaux de parfum sprays in three sizes — 1 oz. for $39.50, 1.7 oz. for $55 and 3.3 oz. for $65 — as well as a 6.8-oz. body lotion for $28."
