London department store Selfridges in Oxford Street has been granted the worldwide privilege of housing the largest collection of makeup color by Dior ever to have been displayed in one location. On October 1, 2009 when the equally record-breaking largest Dior beauty counter in Europe opens at Selfridges, it will offer the richest library of colors you can feast your eyes upon and test...
A special limited-edition color palette called Love Dior will be available as a worldwide exclusive at the new counter (pictured above). It was designed by Dior makeup director Tyen to celebrate his 30 year-collaboration with the brand.
The Dior counter at Selfridges has been called a state-of-the-art one. There will be a Color Creator Atelier where you will be invited to peruse the 250 colors organized around 5 harmonies: red, pink, nude, coral and brown. Skin makeup will be taken care of at the Complexion Bar where again you will be able to find the most complete array of foundation shades by Dior in the world with makeup artists present to help you choose. A third spatial focus will be the Skincare Bar. Finally, perfume is not forgotten -- and how could it be with a portfolio that is particularly vibrant these days -- there will be a Fragrance Consultation Area.
To fête the launch of this perfuming service and seal the event under the sign of upper-crust luxury and exclusivity (please take note semioticians), on November 15, 2009, an ultra limited-edition of J'Adore which is said to be a different "expression" of it called The Amphora will be introduced. Only 10 copies will be ever produced and each flacon is numbered to attract serious collectors or fans of the fragrance.
