Nature et Découvertes (Nature and Discoveries), the chain of stores specializing in natural lifestyle founded in 1990 by François and Françoise Lemarchand is in the process of developing their beauty corners. They have just released a debut trio of perfumes that are eco-certified 100% natural and even more, they are made out of a proportion of 83% to 85% organic ingredients.

The fragrances are called Nectar de Sajara (Sajara Nectar), Bulle de Yuzu (Yuzu Bubble) and Sève de Wenge (Wenge Sap) and are part of a collection entitled Esquisses de Nature (Sketches of Nature)....

A casual smelling session indicates that these are part of the increasingly sophisticated natural-perfumery movement found in the mainstream (as opposed to the works of independent perfumers that are also sophisticated but respond to different constraints). I would need to sit with the scents more to review them in more detail apart from a few notes I have already mentally jotted down as I think they deserve it.

If you are interested but worry about longevity, I can already tell you that they last in the range of 2-3 hours and then become fainter or simpler. I think that this kind of perfumery signals de facto the revival of home decanting as it is a good idea to count on carrying a purse bottle or spray.

Nectar de Sajara is described as a solar and sensual floral perfume with notes/ ingredients of orange essence, mandarin, pink peppercorn, white flowers, orange blossom, jasmine, ylang, vanilla, benzoin, beeswax.

Bulle de Yuzu is said to be a fruity, solar perfume with ingredients of bergamot, green mandarin, grapefruit essences, cardamom green tea, peach, myrrh, tonka bean, and gaiac wood.

Sève de Wenge is a woodsy composition with ingredients of bergamot and lime essences, pepper, ginger, nutmeg, cedar wood, birch bark, amber, patchouli, incense.

Each 50 ml bottle is priced at 39€ or approximately $58 at current exchange rate.
