Burberry Sport for Women & Men (2010) {New Perfumes}

Burberry will launch a duo of scents inspired by their sports fashion label next year. The perfume bottles will look less familiar than usual as the brand's checkered pattern will not be included in the designs. Instead, bold red and black were used.

The perfume notes themselves are meant to evoke the feeling of dynamic sports movement. According to artistic director Christopher Bailey,

"I wanted it to feel like there was movement in the scent,"... "I kept saying I wanted it zingy; I wanted to feel alive; I wanted to feel like it's jumping." ...

Burberry is nevertheless quick to add that the fragrances are not just about "technical sports" but about the concept of sport translated into fashion.

Previously, Burberry The Beat which was promoted as a young-London-scene scent also relied on a dynamic jumping imagery with model Agyness Deyn to better convey its youth appeal.

The Burberry Sport advertising features model Lily Donaldson and actor Douglas Booth.

Burberry Sport for Women, an outdoorsy citrusy floral, was composed by Olivier Polge and Béatrice Piquet of IFF.

Opening notes:

mandarin, sea salt

Body notes:

Lingering notes:

solar notes, musks, cedar wood

Burberry Sport for Men, an aromatic woody marine scent was co-created by perfumers Sonia Constant, Nathalie Gracia-Cetto and Antoine Maisondieu

"The eau de toilettes will be available as 30-, 50- and 75-ml. sprays, which will retail in the U.K. for 27 pounds, 38 pounds and 48 pounds, respectively, or $45, $63.40 and $81 at current exchange.
