Starting from tomorrow, the Champs-Elysées in Paris will be covered on a distance of 1 km by 150 different essences distributed among 8000 removable lots to be acquired by private persons to celebrate the Intenational Day on Biodiversity. The happening is called Nature Capitale and is signed by Gad Weil with the support of the Mairie de Paris. One can discover on May 22, 23, and 24 2010 cedar trees from Lebanon, the Atlas or the Himalayas, white flowers growing in the underbrush, mimosa trees etc. There will be 650 mature trees, 11 000 young trees, and 150 000 young plants. You can watch a teaser video after the jump...

To encourage public consciousness about biodiversity, people are invited to buy a fragment or an éclat (smaller size), i.e., a piece of the display which one will be able to bring home after the event ends. Your name is displayed on the 30 doors leading to Nature Capitale. If you purchase it before tomorrow online, you will be able to access the show in advance thanks to a symbolic green key.
