Nine d'Urso to be Face of Debut Bottega Veneta Perfume {Fragrance News} {Celebrity Perfume}

nine-d-urso-incarne-la-parisienne5.jpgNine d'Urso is the eldest daughter of ex top model Inès de la Fressange, who recently went back to the Chanel runway for a short stint. The 17-year old adolescent has recently been showcased in the book of advice her mother authored (with Sophie Gachet) last fall 2010 called La Parisienne which is to come out in English soon as The Parisian Guide to Chic.

I remember reading an interview of Nine d'Urso's mom explaining that her daughter does not particularly like to play top model (she refused to do an Elle cover) and is much more passionate about her classical studies...

But Nine made an effort to support her mother's book (which is a screaming success apparently as it is always sold-out in various places in Paris) by accepting to be the incarnation of La Parisienne (see a picture from the book above.) Now Bottega Veneta and Coty have announced that she will be the face of their upcoming debut fragrance to be launched in September 2011 according to WWD.

Vogue Italia reports that Bottega Veneta artistic director Tomas Maier spotted Nine d'Urso and decided to have her be the face of the campaign for the fragrance. It will be shot by photographer Bruce Weber. The reasons for hiring the young girl are expounded upon by Tomas Maier,

I chose Nine to introduce this fragrance because there is something classically elegant about her, yet she is totally modern. She conveys a sense of heritage worn lightly but with respect,” stated Tomas Maier, creative director of Bottega Veneta."

Françoise Mariez, senior vice president international European marketing licenses for Coty Prestige said that the adolescent has “an innate, almost aristocratic elegance, true to the brand.”
