Italian designer Laura Biagiotti will relaunch her adulated fragrance from 1992, Venezia. An oriental with a distinctive personality and packaging, it had been erased from the perfume aisles except for a short re-introduction in 2002 in a 25 ml bottle to celebrate the 30 years of fashion of Laura Biagiotti and her 20 years in fragrance-making...

venezia_by_laura_biagiotti_relaunch.jpgIn a dramatic flourish, the brand's website is counting not only the days but the hours, minutes and seconds leading up to the re-launch scheduled for the 1st of September 2011. "The myth is back" says it all.

venezia_Biagiotti_Bottle.jpgThe new 2011 composition is meant to be a faithful recreation of the original. The flacon, while retaining the spirit of the first has evolved into a more bulbous form, looking less Harlequin-like.

So far, only 3 notes are given: plum in the top, jasmine in the heart and vanilla in the base.

The original Venezia featured a secret medieval Venetian elixir-of-love accord imported from China by way of Persia. Let's wait and see if the scent will recreate the same alchemy.
