Festival du Livre Culinaire 7-11 Mars 2012 - Culinary Book Festival in Paris 7-11 March 2012 {Scented Paths & Fragrant Addresses}

festival_livre_culinaire.jpgFor people who love food and food books, there is one destination not to be missed this week with the Festival du Livre Culinaire taking place in Paris at the Centquatre (104) from March 7th to March 11th 2012. In its third annual edition, the meeting for foodies was founded by Edouard Cointreau - who is also related to the Frapin and Rémy Martin families on his maternal side. He felt that this expanding yet misunderstood niche publishing sector needed its own showcase...

He analyzes the rise of interest in culinary books as being fed by the popularity of culinary TV shows.

The festival is open to the wider public during the weekend. There are numerous workshops and demonstrations. The event is also concretely aimed at helping food writers get published.

In 2012, China is the invited guest. A sub-theme is the cuisine of the ethnicities of Malaysia. Gourmet beer is the chosen culinary theme of this year's festival.
