Singer Taylor Swift will release her third fragrance to date called Taylor by Taylor Swift. While her first two called attention away from ther personality only alluding indirectly to her capacity for wonderment in Wonderstruck and Wonderstruck Enchanted, this latest release is about herself more, we are told,

“My first two fragrances were more about fairytales,” she says, “but this fragrance is more about my own style, so I wanted the name to be more personal.”...

In the advert, Taylor is dressed much more simply instead of appearing in a gala dress. The fragrance flacon continues to play with vanity-worthy design and girly pleasures. It looks inspired by a vintage bottle mixing cameleon-like colors set in an Art Deco chinoiserie cloisonné pattern, the sparkle of a faceted top, the sheen of white and pearls. The latter is a reference to Swift's habit of wearing her trademark pearls which she makes sure to carry in her bag at all time, just in case she needs a touch of added elegance on short notice. She is a woman well-prepared but also well-capable of improvising as the telling anecdote about her using a Sharpie on an airplane attests to when she needed an eyeliner and couldn't find one.

Her new perfume is a woody fruity-floral with gourmand nuances including top notes of lychee, sparkling tangerine and magnolia petals, middle notes of peonies, hydrangeas and vanilla orchids and a base of sandalwood, apricot nectar, cashmere musk and a blend of woods. The composition is signed by perfumer Harry Fremont of Firmenich.

Finally about the personality of the fragrance, the young star singer said that “Taylor by Taylor Swift is a mix of a lot of things — it’s sweet, it’s sophisticated, it draws you in — it’s really my way of translating classic, yet modern, into a perfume,” this time alluding to her sense of style which is often retro-flavored and even a bit going a bit in the direction of granny geriatric charm.

Elizabeth Arden who developed the perfume are offering it in five forms: Eau de Parfum Sprays in 3.4 oz and 1.7 oz sizes, a body lotion, a hair mist and a Eau de Parfum rollerball for carry-on purposes.

Taylor edp launches at the end of June 2013.
