Lancôme are preparing to add a new olfactory chapter to their La Vie est Belle story line suceeding the original which was then followed by an Eau Légère version last year. La Vie est Belle L'Eau de Toilette represents more than a mere change in concentration - it is being touted as "the first gourmand magnolia" by the brand...
The fragrance, which will debut from March 2014 just in time to welcome spring, is dedicated to showcasing the magnolia bloom seen as having kept a meaningful connection to its origins in the Far East. This link is underlined in particular regarding how it symbolizes purity and nobility.
Perfumers Anne Flipo and Dominique Ropion co-sign the new, fresher and lighter composition, which rests on an accord of magnolia essence and Iris Pallida. Other notes include an absolute of white florals, patchouli essence, vanilla, praline, and tonka bean.
Actress Julia Roberts continues to be the emblematic smiling face of the fragrance in an advert shot by photographer Carter Smith; the bottle shape was inspired by her smile.
"La Vie est Belle" means "Life is Wonderful" in French, a reference to a common expression which regularly reasserts the French's core belief in the many awesome and small sensual pleasures that sum up a joyful quotidian experience of a beautiful life, with food playing a central role, of course.
Launch date is March 3, 2014. Prices are 69€ for 50 ml and 96€ for 100 ml.
