When the Notion of "Eau de Cologne" Gets a High-End Makeover

French niche perfume house Atelier Cologne are releasing a new opus called Blanche Immortelle cologne absolue in the newly baptized La Collection Métal, which already comprises Silver Iris and Gold Leather (2013)...

Rather than immediately calling our attention to the olfactory components of the fragrance, the brand like to tell a little story describing a character in a cryptic manner. It could be autobiographic, but it is not explicitly stated as such.

"She was defined by boundless generosity but had always preferred to act in the shadows. Secretly, with force and passion, she conscrated each moment of freedom to the cause that was dear to her heart. Day after day, her action would irreversibly modify the established order."

The new composition features main notes of davana, iris, everlasting flower and sandalwood.

The cologne absolue concentrated at 18% opens on top notes of Calabrian bergamot, Italian mandarin, Grasse mimosa leading to a heart of immortelle (Everlasting) absolue from Corsica, Indian jasmin sambac, Turkish rose absolue and resting on a base of cœur de patchouli from Indonedsia, Haitian vetiver and Australian sandalwood.

To whip up some pre-launch excitement, the house are offering the scent for a 72 hour preview period sale.

Prices: Ecrin Absolu (seen above) is at 265€. 200 ml for 240€ and 100 ml for 165€.
