Guerlain Santal Royal (2014) {New Fragrance}

Guerlain_Santal_Royal.jpg The house of Guerlain have collaborated with London department store Harrods to release an exclusive perfume for the shopping destination entitled Santal Royal. The launch coincides with the opening of the Salon des Parfums, a new perfumery dedicated to niche and high-luxury perfumes...

The 125 ml opaque black bottle resembles the ones usually used for functional fragrances by Guerlain like Eau de Lit, a fragrance mist for beddings, but this time it houses a fine perfume.

Notes include, in the top, neroli and cinnamon followed by rose, jasmine and sandalwood in the heart and amber, leather, oud, and musk in the base.

Guerlain had a fragrance collaboration in 2007 with perfumer Randa Hammami of Symrise which was strongly skewed Middle-Eastern for its preference for oud and oil-based perfumery.

The house demonstrated once more their impact as trend-setters as this took place before the overtake of Western perfumery by oud as a note, but more decidely even, by oud as a genre.

Price: £125
