It's Victory in Europe Day today. Looking at a peaceful, only slightly stirred, café terrace scene bathed in golden light makes you grateful for the banality of everyday life. It's banal but it's alive...

,unlike the millions of persons who were killed during WWII in atrocious conditions.

So, that's my remembrance moment.

And I want to say Thank You

For allowing such banality to fill our lives.

It's when people stop appreciating how hard it is to maintain a state of banality

like drinking a glass of wine or beer at a café terrace

It's when some people get bored with non-events,

that troubles start.
