Chanel has announced that they will postpone the launch of No.5 Eau Première (pics and details from previous announcement available here) until next year in 2008 due to a "technical fault." The latest variation on the über iconic Chanel No.5 perfume was scheduled for official release on October 29 2007.......

"The fragrance was marketed to be a more modern and softer interpretation of the company’s No.5 pillar fragrance. Created by perfumer Jacques Polge, the new scent incorporates similar ingredients to the original, including rose absolute, jasmine, neroli and ylang-ylang.

Eau Première is expected to debut next year, according to a Chanel spokesperson."

  1. I'm confused by this, because it's already at Saks and has been there for quite some time. Does this mean they have to send back the bottles? I wonder what the technical fault is.

  2. Yes, it's confusing. Cosmetics International is an UK-based site so they might be referring to the UK only but they did not say so. Moreover, if there is a "technical fault" does that mean that only a particular batch was compromised? But then the Chanel spokesperson seems to announce this as general news. Let's wait and see. I am struck by how frank they are.
