Ralph Lauren Notorious (2008) {New Perfume}

Ralph-Lauren-Notorious-Ad.jpg

Ralph Lauren will launch a new women's perfume this summer and fall called Notorious that hopes to revive the codes of old Hollywood glamour. Model Laetitia Casta who fronts the advertising campaign promisingly describes it in this way "It's so mysterious and I love the pepper smell."

Illustrating a glam trend that is becoming more and more perceptible in fragrance, Notorious explicitly derived inspiration from film noir actresses "like Faye Dunaway in "The Thomas Crown Affair" and "Chinatown," Lauren Bacall in "The Big Sleep" and Ingrid Bergman in Alfred Hitchcock's classic thriller "Notorious.".....

The new perfume was composed by Olivier Gillotin of Givaudan. It represents Ralph Lauren's first attempt at launching an oriental fragrance which they describe as "a sparkling spiced oriental".

The scent features "top notes of black currant, spicy pink peppercorn and Italian bergamot; middle notes of chocolate cosmos, white frost peonies and carnation, and bottom notes of patchouli musk, vanilla and orris."

The launch will be gradual. Bottles will first appear on Bloomingdale's counters in early July and be available exclusively there in August. The wider distribution will take place in the fall.

"Notorious eau de parfum spray will be available in two sizes, a 2.6-oz. version for $85 and a 1.7-oz. size for $65. Three ancillaries will also be available: a 6.7-oz. body lotion for $45, a 6.7-oz. shower gel for $40 and a 5.3-oz. body crème for $70"

Can't wait to sample this for my wife.

Can anyone please tell me the name of either the trumpet player, or the music that accompanies the current ad campaign? Many thanks in anticipation.
Tony.

Hi

Just discovered that Lauren's ad for Notorious fragrance, uses Miles Davis' Maids of Cadiz as background music.

Ciao Lee
