Earth, Sun & Wind

Guerlain will launch their 2014 summer edition of Terracotta which this time will include a relaunch of their 1999 perfume Terracotta Voile d'Eté as Terracotta Le Parfum to fête the 30th anniversary of the hydrating bronzing powder Terracotta (1984). Remember that era when earthy pigments arrived on the scene?...

It is a limited-edition. The fragrance originally created by perfumer Mathilde Laurent has been reworked by in-house perfumer Thierry Wasser.

The jus, which is said to be an ode to the sun, features notes of coconut, bergamot, tiaré flower, orange blossom, jasmine, ylang-ylang, vanilla and musk.

The original had a dominant carnation character and more complexity in the contrasting of notes which included mint or pear.

A surface reading indicates that the new Terracotta might be more in tune with the type of solar, coconuty fragrances that have become very popular thanks in part to the Estée Lauder Goddess franchise, and before that, thanks to the sunscreen lotions hitting all the right beachy, exotic notes.
