Lip Twins by Yves Saint Laurent {Beauty Notes} {New Beauty Product}

Yves Saint Laurent has launched a new lipstick duo called Lip Twins. The packaging is gorgeous, looking like a little jewel that will be easy to carry about in one's purse. It is also practical with its mirror and brush. It contains two different textures, a satiny one and a glossy one that you can wear together or separately according to your mood. Lip Twins comes in 12 different combinations of colors and contains an SPF 8.

It retails for $30 at Saks, Bergdorf Goodman, Nordstrom etc.

Rouge Allure by Chanel {Beauty Notes} {New Beauty Product}

Check out the latest lipstick by Chanel called Rouge Allure, a deep red with bluish nuances "destined to become an icon". In particular check out the amazing advertising efforts and movie for the lippie. The film was created by Bettina Rheims based on Le Mépris (Contempt) by Jean-Luc Godard and is called Le Rouge. Model/actress is Julie Ordon.

You can sign up to receive a poster of the movie, only within France at the moment it seems. 

The lisptick retails for $30.

Benghal Perfume & Beauty Collection by Lancôme {New Perfume} {Beauty Notes}

Lancôme launched its second fragrance in its Collection Voyage (travel collection) after Tropiques last year. The perfume is described as being a soft floral with light spicy and fruity accents. It is inspired by the gardens of Indian palaces.

This year, the fragrance is accompanied by a makeup collection comprising a palette for the face and a series of 3 lip glosses.

These limited editions are in principle reserved for travel retail but last year one could spot Tropiques at online discounters soon enough after the launch.

Corail, A New Powder Compact by Chantecaille {Beauty Notes} {Beauty News}

The fragrance and beauty line Chantecaille will launch a new powder compact in March called "Corail" (Coral). The turquoise blue and red compact is decorated with a beautiful branch of red coral and the powder retains the shape of the coral branch.

The coral theme was developed in association with the PEW Institute for Ocean Science. 

The compact will retail for 75 Euros and will be available in France at the Printemps de la Beauté.

New Limited Edition Makeup Collection: Guerlain by Pucci {Beauty Notes} {Beauty News}

Guerlain and Emilio Pucci have partenered up to design a line of makeup that will be available from May until August 2007. The colorful stylish and very Pucci packaging was inspired by a scarf Pucci created specifically for the project. You will now only need to complement the look with the upcoming fragrance by Bond no 9, Bryant Park .....

Annick Goutal has opened her re-styled boutique 14, rue de Castiglione in Paris with a new "boudoir" section. It now offers a Beauty Institute service on the 2nd floor as well as sells jewelry by designer France Thierard and stationery by Marie-Papier besides their perfume line....

French Lilac & Tahitian Gardenia Body Butters by Pacifica {Beauty Notes}

Tahitian Gardenia and French Lilac body butters by Pacifica are two of the items in this body line that I thought smelled particularly good and were worth mentioning. Pacifica, established in 1995, is originally and first and foremost still it seems a candle-making business and these beauty products were made using scents that are popular in the candle line. This reminds me that Hilary Duff also got her inspiration for her perfume With Love from a cherished home candle. A new trend in the making?

The quality of these creams is very good. Tahitian Gardenia smells very tropical, offering a moderate indolic character that prevents it from smelling too sanitized and lacking in character. It would make a great skin scent, not overly complex but comforting and pretty. Same thing for French Lilac. The smell feels natural, springy, and fresh. It has enough of a presence to be used as a skin scent too, one that would not just smell like your preferred means of perfuming yourself is soap....

Les Beurres Exquis by Frederic Malle {Beauty Notes, Fragrant Shopping, & New Perfumes}

Frederic Malle has released a series of four luscious and refined body butters based on 4 of their 15 fragrances from the Editions de Parfums line. Those are Beurre d'Iris (90 Euros) based on Iris Poudre, Absolue Cassie (100 Euros) on Une Fleur de Cassie, Absolue de Rose Turque DM (110 Euros) on Une rose, and Absolue Tubereuse DM (125 Euros) on Carnal Flower.

The hydrating base was created by an MD, Dr. Patricia Le Bastard. The Beurres Exquis (Exquisite Butters) come in 200 g jars made of luxurious black bakelite.
