Perry Ellis is launching a new cologne for men just called Perry Ellis. Little information is casually forthcoming at this point as the new scent is not yet up on their site. But from what we can judge from the pictures of the adverts and the strip scent in Vanity Fair of June 2008, it seems to represent an effort at proposing a more upscale fragrance than is usual for them.....
The bottle is handsome and more luxurious in appearance than the other fragrances in their collection.
Without having tested on skin, but just by smelling the strip, Perry Ellis smells modern-classic but with a good level of intensity at the same time, offering main ambery (resinous), woody, and briney facets, the latter probably as an accord suggestive of the seaside. This is NOT a review, just notes. There seems to be some orris and leather in smaller proportions.
A casual little skin test later reveals a very nice musk and grapefruit accord in the style of Guerlain Pamplelune.
