French Fifi Awards Grand Prix du Parfum 2007 (& 2006) (Updated) {Fragrance News}

The French Fifi Awards, renamed the Grand Prix du Parfum (Grand Perfume Prize) in 2006 so that the import of the event would be better grasped by the French public, selected winners amongst 81 finalists in its 15th edition on April 5th 2007. According to the French Fragrance Foundation press release, 1300 members of the industry were asked to cast their votes and almost 50% of them responded, which is considered to be a very good proportion.

The categories that are judged differ from country to country.

In France the finalists were:

In 2006, the perfumes that won were Alien de Thierry Mugler (created par Carlos Benaïm, Olivier Polge, Domitille Bertier et Dominique Ropion d'IFF) and Dior Homme from Parfums Christian Dior (Olivier Polge). The latter also won the best masculine flacon award (design by Hedi Slimane), the one for best communication as well as the Sephora price. Flowerbomb de Viktor & Rolf received the Sephora prize and the best feminine flacon prize and Hypnôse de Lancôme the best communication one. The collection Armani Privé de Giorgio Armani (created by Christine Nagel, Quest, Michel Almairac, Robertet, Antoine Maisondieu et Daniela Andrier, Givaudan) was awarded the best feminine prize in selective distribution perfumery, et Prada (Carlos Benaïm et Max Gavarry, IFF) got the Marie Claire prize.
