New Yves Rocher Fragrance Collection: Réédition Parfum {Fragrance News} {New Perfumes} Following a general popular trend of vintage re-editions, Yves Rocher has created a new collection of perfumes called Réédition Parfum. The brand has recently re-launched, in May of 2007, two perfumes from its catalog and is planning two more re-issues by the end of this year. On a related note, the label also just re-issued Pur Désir de Pivoine in its current Pur Désir de Fleurs collection, which is back by popular demand.....

{Perfume Q & A} with Karl Bradl of Aedes de Venustas - Tastes of Summer: 2007 Bestseller Summery Fragrances Karl Bradl is the owner, together with Robert Gerstner, of a perfumista's haven situated in the West Village in New York City called Aedes de Venustas. Their gorgeous (see the peacock art that mirrors the peacock in their window display) well-organized website is a treat to visit too and we can vouch for their excellent service. Not surprisingly fresh, herbal-y, transparent, juicy, and discreet skin fragrances were favored amongst patrons. Anything to help beat the heat.....

She creates for the niche label The Different Company and has also composed a rose fragrance, Rose Divine, for the Isabel Derroisné brand........

August 7, 2007Tuberose Gardenia Private Collection by Estée Lauder {Perfume Review & Musings} {New Fragrance} Tuberose Gardenia Private Collection is the latest perfume launch by Estée Lauder. It was composed by perfumer Harry Fremont. The perfume is a personal homage on the part of the grand-daughter of the founder, Aerin Lauder, to her grand-mother Estée Lauder, to her sense of the rare and unique, but is also a strategic move in the current market context where more and more exclusive collections of scents are being released by houses wishing to demonstrate that they can be as niche and reveal as much discriminative taste as small perfume houses specializing in the creations of fragrances made with high quality ingredients. In the Estée Lauder context, one might also see this as going back to the roots of the company's history as well as constituting a subtle reminder that the Estée Lauder brand is not following but leading this trend in a sense, as the "Private Collection" concept came about long before either Tom Ford's Private Blend or Armani Privé saw the light of day.......

August 8, 2007{Perfume Q & A} with Raffy Dolbakian of Parfums Raffy: Tastes of Summer - 2007 Bestseller Summery Fragrances Raffy Dolbakian is the owner of Parfums Raffy, which is both a brick-and-mortar perfume boutique located in Sherman Oaks, California, and a discount online store. His careful selection includes both meaningful design and niche fragrances, including for the latter the full ranges of (discontinued) Crown Perfumery fragrances, Creed, Montale, and Amouage perfumes. In French, a "parfumeur" can mean both a "nose" and a perfume store owner and in this case Dolbakian happens to be both as he was formally trained in the art of perfumery. He composes fragrances that can be custom-ordered. He is also the perfume expert on the MTV reality show, "My Super Sweet 16". This summer, there was one clear favorite for both women and men, Creed Virgin Island Water, which made the tops of both top-ten lists at Parfums Raffy......

Armani has released its newest fragrance called Emporio Armani Diamonds. It comes right in the wake of the success of Armani Code for Women, which ranked 9th on US Mother's Day and amongst the top five bestsellers in several European markets (Germany, Italy, UK). This launch is seen as an effort to vitalize further the Armani brand name in the realm of women's fragrances. Britney Spears Believe Ad {Scented Image}
While Britney Spears is preparing to launch her latest jus, Believe, an ad campaign of sorts has already started on the net with pictures of the Elizabeth Arden press release circulating. Fans and others are wondering whether or not an all-too-obvious idealization process has taken place? The question may appear futile, but it is not, really. What are at stakes are ethical issues regarding body representation and the power of images in our society.
