Stephen Jones Fragrance to be Created with Rei Kawabuko {New Perfume}

British milliner Stephen Jones has announced that he is working on the creation of a debut fragrance with Rei Kawabuko of Comme des Garçons. The launch is anticipated to take place in July of 2008 and Jones is already planning to make a hat inspired by the shape of the bottle.........

Madonna Fragrance on the Horizon {Fragrance News}

The question is, will Madonna gain enough creative control over this perfume development project if it ever takes place? Madonna is said to have inked a $120 million deal with Live Nation for them to license her name. The deal might possibly include the creation of a fragrance. It is reported that Madonna has been interested in the idea for a decade but has been shopping around more thoroughly this year........

A Hungarian Perfumer: Zsolt Zolyomi of Parfums Zsolt Zolyomi {Perfume Q & A} {Scented Paths & Fragrant Addresses}

We recently happened on the site of a young Hungarian perfumer named Zsolt Zolyomi. We asked him if he could tell us a bit more about himself and his brand, Parfums Zsolt Zolyomi. We were interested in knowing what perfumes he had created as we saw that he had been involved in several projects that typically included social events.

It turns out that he is currently hard at work setting up a perfume store in Budapest and being very conscious that this is an area of cultural appreciation that remains to be developed in Hungary, he is directing his efforts in this direction at the moment. His avowed goal is to reconnect with the roots of modern Western perfumery in Hungary, which famously took place in the 14th century with the creation of the Eau de la Reine de Hongrie, a rosemary-based perfume and lotion reputed to have rejuvenated Elizabeth of Kujavia (1305-1380).

Apart from that, his style, what we like to think of as a poetico-realistic style nurtured by nostalgia and memories of happiness but not exclusively, perhaps a little bit à la Christopher Brosius in the US, seems to be a strong one at the moment in his work. We are certainly looking forward to smelling a Hungarian summer in the countryside ......

Vetyver by Givenchy: Les Parfums Mythiques (2007) {Perfume Short (Review)} {New Perfume} {Men's Cologne}

Givenchy recently launched a new collection of fragrances called Les Parfums Mythiques (Mythical Fragrances), which includes a library of ten perfumes that were recalled from the prestigious past of the house. They are for the men's fragrances, Vetyver (the first Givenchy masculine scent), Monsieur de Givenchy, Xeryus, Insensé; women's scents are: L'Interdit, Le De, Givenchy III, Eau de Givenchy, Extravagance d'Amarige, and Organza Indécence. Certain perfumes had become true rarities. Vetyver is one of them; it comes enshrouded with the aura of legend as one of the best vetiver fragrances ever made.

Delicious Night by Donna Karan is said to aim to capture the atmosphere of New York City at night. As is made clear by the website supporting the launch of the perfume, uncoverthecity.com, the scent targets bachelorettes in particular who are believed to be its ideal fragrance consumers and thought to be always potentially interested in a sexy perfume to wear on a night out with a band of girl-friends.
