Taylor Swift is the latest celebrity from the show business to join the ranks of style inspirators at Elizabeth Arden fragrances. After Elizabeth Taylor, Danielle Steel, Britney Spears, Hilary Duff and Usher, Swift will represent the new and youngest generation of celebs dabbling in scent marketing and perfume-cuing for the masses...

In 2009 her album Fearless was reportedly the highest selling album in the US making her an attractive icon for the celebrity-perfume market which likes to be all-inclusive. Although no specific details were unveiled as of yet, her debut fragrance has been announced for the end of 2011. Like a number of celebrity perfumes, hers is pre-announced, at least at this stage, as a mix of favorite perfumes from her past. The singer said that “Lately I’ve been having fun experimenting with combining some of my favorite scents, so I’m really excited about working with Elizabeth Arden to develop my own unique fragrance.” We shed light on the scent-library concept for celebs for Fergie Outspoken. It would be great if they could go a step further than this logical outlook at a celebrity taste.

Ron Rolleston, executive vice president of Elizabeth Arden explained their choice of the young country music singer,

Taylor represents as an artist: a role model who inspires her global fan base every day,” he said. “We also like to create fragrances which are conceptual in nature and driven by the celebrities we work with. Taylor is an artist, and the great thing about fragrance is the artistry of it. Taylor is such a terrific storyteller that we want to give her the ability to use her skills in another way, and we believe it’s a great opportunity for us.”

Taylor Swift herself has been apparently reminiscing hard about the landmark perfumes of her past saying,

I’d put on Abercrombie 8 to remember when I was in ninth grade and had my first boyfriend, because he gave me that,” Swift explains. Then there was the scent that helped boost her popularity. “The coolest girl in school wore Britney Spears Fantasy, and I had to copy her.

Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue will probably not be in this medley as Swift confesses to finding it still difficult for her to smell it due to bad memories association.
