 Perfume "As a child, rummaging around in the drawers of my beloved, oh so beautiful Mama, the desk made of mahogany and cut glass, I found an empty perfume bottle which still retained the potent scent of an unidentified fragrance. Many times I'd sneak over and sniff at it. I associated this fragrance with all the love, tenderness, friendship, longing, sadness in the world.  Each year, Yves Saint-Laurent proposes a new interesting twist on the classic Opium in a summer limited edition of the fragrance. This time, the orchid, a flower favored by the empress of China is the basis of the inspiration for the new scent called Opium Eau d'Orient Orchidée de Chine (Opium Eau of the Orient, Orchid from China.) Besides the characteristic spicy notes of Opium, the perfume has also notes of mandarin, neroli, orchid, jasmin, carnation, amber, vanilla, patchouli, and iris. The scent will be available from Mars 2007 and will retail for 55 Euros for a flacon of 100 ml. Source: Cosmoty.de
 Azzaro is launching a duo of perfumes called Now Women and Now Men which will be presented in high-tech style packagings. Now Women is described as a soft floral aldehydic fragrance and was composed by Annie Buzantian and Alberto Morillas. Now Men is said to be a metallic woody green fragrance and was created by Christophe Raynaaud and Lucas Sieuzac. Source: Osmoz

Before the very moment of olfactory apprehension of a perfume, there are those important preceding instants where the perfume lover anticipates smelling the jus, dreams about it, fears disappointment, and finally lets the dices of fate roll by taking a stroll to the perfumery.
[...] On my way to Etat Libre d'Orange, I stop in front of the attractive window of a store called Les Mille Feuilles and lose myself into the contemplation of an array of whimsical objects. One item catches my attention: a bust of an 18th century-looking masculine figure with a feminine virginal narrow bejewelled crown on its head. It suddenly reminds me of a terrifying anecdote told to me by a friend whose grand-father had indulged in the heights of, seemingly, ancien régime libertine debauchery. Namely that the marquis' moral cruelty and esprit de libertinage had led him to spend his wedding night with revellers all the while dressed up in his new wife's bridal gown and virginal veil. To crown it all, the marquis' wife many years later ended up being institutionalized by the family......

New York and Japan.” An Article by Dusan Z  Yeah, I wish. Picture your granny (no disrespect to Grannies Worldwide) in Victoria’s Secret’s latest lace extravaganza. Yep, she is sexy, not me. From time to time, though, I like to slather myself with a certain scent believing it will give me the aura of sexiness that I desperately need around me. The one that always manages to arouse (only me, of course) is Opium Pour Homme. Ah, oh, ooh and all manner of interjections come out of the bottle. It’s hot, smoldering, spicy and rich and so plush and creamy in the drydown that I just want to sneak off from seeing eyes and have mindblowing sex with myself. (Did I just say that out loud?). For a more intimate atmosphere I suggest the velvety EDP as it lacks the jarring fresh note in the EDT which will, however, make you stand out in the crowd......

 You can now place pre-orders for the new MDCI line of perfumes at Luckyscent. Its owner Claude Marchal has developed five fragrances in collaboration with renowned perfumers Francis Kurkdjian, Pierre Bourdon, and Stéphanie Bakouche. It is a great example of how the so-called luxury perfume industry can meet niche perfumery as these noses usually work for much more maisntream brand names. The lines are therefore getting blurrier between the two sectors in terms of who the creators are. For well-established noses, it is a way for them to create more personal fragrances liberated from some of the constraints of the big industry....
