The latest John Galliano women's fragrance launched yesterday on September 13, 2010 in Paris at historic restaurant Lapérouse facing the Seine in the 6th arrondissement. Outside the culinary hot spot which had been commandeered for the perfume launch, there was a huge open-sided bus to host a concert by The Pretty Reckless. Momsen performed with her band that evening singing Factory Girl, Make me wanna die, Since you're gone. If you were following her tweets you would have got the invitation to meet up at the crossroad of the Quai des Grands Augustins and the rue des Grands Augustins.

The new fragrance has started to be unveiled. The Eau de Toilette is called Parlez-moi d'amour (lit. Talk to me about love) and is aiming a younger demographic than the eponymous John Galliano edp and edt. But as Galliano quickly added, there is no age limit for true love...

Inside La Pérouse, a boudoir atmosphere had been recreated with bouquets of roses wrapped in black silk paper and romantic paper notes strewn on tables. Rickety stairways and narrow premises made it an unlikely choice for a perfume launch but amplified an old-world charm factor. Like for Love, Chloé and Marry Me! by Lanvin, the theme of predilection this season for fragrance designers aiming young women are love messages...on a bottle. The flacon of the new Galliano fragrance is styled after a letter envelope.

Taylor Momsen was dressed in either a black satin bustier dress with trashy fishnet stockings or a loose pink corset with gold appliqués wearing garters, laddered black stockings and towering platform shoes, the latter costume which recalled the coded get-ups of meretricians of old. Pink and black were the two color codes of Parlez-Moi d'Amour, which is named after a famous song interpreted by Edith Piaf.

Galliano said that Momsen had been his muse inspiring him to imagine one of the dramatic stories of our times "where she's been traveling around the world gigging everywhere, going from one gig to another, and she finds herself in Berlin, stranded." Galliano imagined that the actress-turned-rocker had no Internet access and had lost contact with everyone.
