Carol's Daughter 1st Celebrity Perfume: Mary J Blige My Life (2009) {New Perfume} {Fragrance News} {Celebrity Fragrance}

Mary-J-Blige.jpg
Following the recent launch of their first fine fragrance composition called Pearls, bath and body brand Carol's Daughter, who might be looking to emulate a brand like Fresh purveyor of both bath and body and fine perfumes, is preparing to launch their first celebrity perfume inspired by singer Mary J Blige and named after her album entitled My Life. The artist has been working as one of the brand's celebrity spokespersons and is apparently thrilled by the project as she confesses to being a hard-core beauty junkie,

"I am Carol's Daughter and my fans are Carol's Daughter users so it just made sense to partner," Blige said in an interview last month. "Ever since I was a child, I loved buying products that made me feel beautiful and clean," said Blige. "I'm a total beauty nut -- you should check out all the junk in my bathroom." (Via WWD)

Potus-1600-2.jpg

Monica Bellucci Plays Daughter of Eve for Dior Hypnotic Poison Ad {Perfume Images & Adverts - New}

Hypnotic-Dior-Ad-Belluci-TSS.jpgThe new ad for Dior Hypnotic Poison with actress Monica Bellucci. The tag line is Dior est mon poison (Dior is my poison).

An advertising that plays to the stereotype or archetype of Eve. The bottle of Hypnotic Poison becomes or rather suggests the (red) apple Eve bit into as she was seduced into it by the serpent in the garden of Eden.

After Eve/Monica Bellucci gets expulsed from Eden she takes on the attributes of the snake in order, in her turn, to ssssseduce unwitting men.

However Dior in their kindness have posted a big enough community warning sign.

Monica Bellucci thus becomes that multi-secular female public enemy # 1 figure at the very same time that her husband Vincent Cassel is playing the role of public enemy #1 Mesrine in his latest movie.

Nice synchronicity.

Actress Sarah Jessica Parker is expanding further the lure of her Lovely Collection with three new perfumes meant to mark three different periods of the day: Dawn, Endless, Twilight. In other words it is an invitation to stay longer with your Lovely choice.

The original Lovely was launched in 2005 and was followed by a Liquid Satin version. Coty Prestige reportedly intends to develop this franchise still further in the future.

Regarding the time-of-the-day concept, Lisa Hoffman, Dustin Hoffman's wife, already had the idea not too long ago with her Variations Collection. According to WWD, Coty Prestige was inspired by their other fragrance-development venture, Gwen Stefani's Harajuku Lovers, a set of five perfumes...

Badgley & Mischka Couture (2009): Red-Carpet Appeal {New Fragrance} {Celebrity Perfume}

badgley-mischka-Couture.jpg
To fête the 20th anniversary of their label, team Badgley & Mischka have concocted a new juice meant to embody the dreams and glamor that their company was able to foster. The idea is simple: as Badgley puts it "One zip -- or in this case, one spritz -- and you're glamorous!". It is a lighthearted reference to the much more arduous preparation stars go through to get ready for their big day or evening on the red carpet.

Called Couture, the scent was inspired by a roster of feminine celebrities, and even icons: "Teri Hatcher, Sharon Stone, Elizabeth Taylor, Eva Longoria Parker and Sarah Jessica Parker"...

Paris Hilton Fairy Dust (2008): They Love To Hate Her {New Fragrance} {Celebrity Perfume}

Fairie-Dust.jpgParlux Fragrances know about the media-attention capital Paris Hilton possesses and that's the main point,

"Katz takes a wide-gauge view of the Hilton business. To him, a fragrance launch is a process of bringing news to the Hilton customer. Whether it results in the sales of the new fragrance or stimulates sales of an earlier scent is of little consequence. The object is to energize the customer base and whet its appetite."...

Jean-Paul Goude Loves... {What Perfume(s) Celebs Love To Wear}

Bjork-Goude.jpg
Björk as seen by Jean-Paul Goude

Jean-Paul Goude reveals in the October issue of Votre Beauté what his signature perfume is, as well as what scent one day made his head turn around, leaving him with an unforgettable olfactory memory.

He confesses to having personally adopted for good the scent under the label of his friend Andrée Putman, Préparation Parfumée, composed by perfumer Olivia Giacobetti. He is also sensitive to the freshness and sensuality of the Mojito cologne, Homme by Guerlain, for which he recently directed the commercial featuring a masculine icon very close to the animal state. He adds that in doing so he was trying to avoid the images of the "city man" and "metrosexual"...

Renee Fleming La Voce by Coty (2008) {New Fragrance} {Celebrity Fragrance}

La-Voce-Renee-Fleming.jpgThe Motivation

On September 22, 2008 the launch of a new perfume endorsed by opera singer Renee Fleming will take place at the MET on the occasion of their Opening Night Gala celebrating the 125th anniversary of the opera house. Called La Voce (The Voice), it is a limited-edition scent in full gala attire meant to raise funds for the New York opera house and awareness for a musical genre that is oftentimes considered too elitist to touch a wide spectrum of the population. According to Peter Gelb, general manager of the Metropolitan Opera the action will be beneficial to the institution,

"This is part of our initiatives to regain the MET's position in culture. We don't expect to replace pop culture but think it could be more popular and be part of society and everyday life than has been in recent decades. Having a perfume that's publicly promoted and honoring one of opera's greatest stars is a step in the right direction."...
