Peter Andre to Launch Signature Scent {Fragrance News} {Celebrity Perfume}

Singer Peter Andre, the ex-husband of Katie Price aka Jordan is following in his ex's footsteps. He announced that he is going to launch a masculine perfume in 2010 as well as a line of grooming products and promises that it will be "...his busiest year to date."

Madonna Nudes 1979 Musical, Sensual (2010) {New Fragrances} {Celebrity Fragrance}

Following the launch of an initial quatuor of Madonna Nudes 1979 scents in 2006, four more perfumes will be introduced in 2010. To begin with, Musical and Sensual will appear early next year.

The collection is not endorsed by Madonna but makes reference to her portfolio of 34 so-called nude pictures taken by photographer Martin Schreiber in 1979, which includes a few where she is still clothed (see above). She was 21, still unknown, and has no copyrights over these images.

These celebrity fragrances of sorts are nevertheless inspired by her life...

Eva Longoria Eva (2010) {New Perfume} {Celebrity Fragrance}

Actress Eva Longoria will launch her debut signature perfume in April of 2010. It is called Eva. The composition was developed with the Falic Fashion Group which have already tried their hand at celebrity-fragrance development with a Daddy Yankee cologne in the fall of 2008. It will not be part of the Desperate-Housewives franchise like Forbidden Fruit and a 2009 quatuor of scents by LR Health & Beauty Systems called Bree, Susan, Lynette and Gabrielle, although no doubt will benefit from it.

Eva Longoria of Desperate-Housewives fame and who is additionally married to French basketball player Tony Parker was thought to have the right international profile and appeal.

She is popular on French TV thanks to her marriage to Parker. It remains to be seen whether or not the French will cave in if only a little to the celebrity-fragrance trend to which they seem impervious...

Sarah Jessica Parker to Launch Consensual B.O.-Inspired Scent {Fragrance News} {Celebrity Perfume}

Sarah Jessica Parker has been expressing her wish for a long time to create an authentically musky scent, the kind that she is partial to. Apparently, after having been forced to compromise on her previous fragrance launches, she might be able to get closer to her goal and to take some creative risks.

Well, perhaps the word "risk" is a bit strong here as the actress insists that the scent of B.O. she has in mind remains popular with "everybody."

You cannot help but get a paradoxical vision of the most commonly encountered olfactory experience, the scent of humanity, exuded by precisely, each and everyone, going through a cycle of creative renewal and ending up in a bottle signed SJP. Of course, it is to be understood as a stance against deodorized society. The most common odor might be that of soap now. The scent of B.O. might be another form of anti-perfume, the kind that gestures in the direction of its anihilation by body odor, to borrow from post-modernist jargon. But are we really expecting SJP to be gesturing in that direction?...

Bullfighter Cayetano Rivera to be Face of Loewe Perfume {Fragrance News} {Celebrity Perfume}

He will also front the advertising for the men's ready-to-wear and accessories collections...

Singer Beyoncé Knowles feels she is ready to launch her first signature perfume and because she loves red and gold and does everything with love and passion, it's called Heat. The tag line is "Catch the fever." It's been tested the way only a touring singer can, by getting the spontaneous inputs of countless fans getting up close with her. So far it's reported to be a win.

"I learned a lot of great things from the past -- but I always asked myself, 'If I could have my own scent, what would it be?' I wasn't worried about deadlines. It could have taken me three, four, however many years -- this was my first fragrance, and I wanted to make sure that it was something I would love forever."...

Paris Hilton visited Macy's in Glendale, California on December 3, 2009 to help boost the sales of her latest fragrance Siren. Always ready for a change of persona and ever the savvy attention-getter she donned a sexy Santa suit.

Even if it's a far cry from the gilded siren imagery of the original advert, it's still about Paris Hilton's chameleon ability to re-invent her appearance and make a photo call worthwhile for everyone onlooking.

A siren sometimes has to let her inner naughty elf come out...

Scarlett Johansson Replaces Gisele Bundchen as the Face of Dolce & Gabbana The One {Fragrance News} {Perfume Adverts} {Celebrity Scents}

The winter shopping season 2009 sees a new advertising and spokesperson for Dolce & Gabbana The One previously advertised with model Gisèle Bündchen who is an expectant mother.

Scarlett Johansson was recently seen as the face of Dolce & Gabbana's new makeup line and of Rose The One, their first soliflore. She now appears bathed in the same champagne-rosé light as in the Rose adverts but wearing deep coral red lipstick on a golden brown background. The men's version of The One (see review) with Matthew McConaughey shows a similar background in the advert. It is used as a visual cue to help pair the duo.

Sean John Announces Launch of Empress on HSN {Fragrance News} {Celebrity Perfume}


Sean John did so well for his first time on HSN that his perfume I Am King sold out in the first 15 mn of the show. After a caller asked if he would create an I Am Queen Perfume, P Diddy said that the women's version of I Am King was already being developed and is called Empress with a launch scheduled for next year.

JLO Blue Glow (2010) {New Perfume} {Celebrity Fragrance}



JLO BlueGlow.jpgJennifer Lopez just released a perfume called My Glow inspired by motherhood topped with a cutesie cherub. While her twins are growing, the Glow portfolio obviously wants to do the same. In February 2010, there will be a new Glow scent called Blue Glow by JLO.

It's a fruity-floral eau de toilette blended with exotic fruits, a vintage rose and even -- confession time -- a wizard perfume aromachemical designed by Givaudan, the giant fragrance supplier, called Florymoss...

Sean John Unforgivable Night & I Am King of the Night (2009) {New Fragrances} {Celebrity Perfumes}

Sean John aka P Diddy is entering winter with two new nocturnal perfumes, Unforgivable Night for Men cologne, a flanker to Unforgivable and I Am King of the Night for Men, a variation on I Am King. The "night" motif is more often than not used in perfumery to denote a more intense and sometimes sexier composition.

For Unforgivable Men Night EDT, the blend is now more intense and even boozier...

Autographed Patrick Dempsey 2 by Avon Giveaway (US & Canada Readers Only) {Contests & Giveaways} {Celebrity Fragrance}

The cologne was inspired by his feelings for his wife, makeup artist JIlian Dempsey who is also a color director at Avon and has a signature line of makeup with the brand,

"There's a very personal dimension to the fragrance," says Dempsey. "This scent evokes the feeling of strength and intimacy you experience with the person you love."

Gerard Butler Wants a Perfume Line {Celebrity Fragrances}

One of the perks of doing celebrity-perfume blogging is that you get to virtually meet all sorts of people you had barely heard of before. The universe starts feeling more peopled all of a sudden and you feel more knowledgeable.

I couldn't quite place Gerard Butler at first but now I know -- and you know too -- that he is definitely interested in developing a perfume under his name. And it sounds like the urgent, in thing to do for young Scottish actors these days...
