New Fragrance Line, Get Juic'd by Calgon {Fragrance News}

getjuic'd.jpg

Yes, that's right; hard to believe but someone at Calgon thought there were not enough fruity fragrances in the world. Juozas Statkevicius Perfume {Fragrance News, Lithuania}

Statkevicus_ad.png

Lithuanian designer Juozas Statkevicius has an eponymous fragrance called Juozas Statkevicius. You can find more information (in Lithuanian) on their website. The perfume was created by perfumer Fabrice Pellegrin who is also the author of Eruption (with Gerit Van Logchen) and Hermès L'Eau Délicate Calèche. You can read his interview here (in French).

Here are a few highlights; We learn that Pellegrin loves Oriental perfumes (Féminité du Bois, Opium, Must) and is especially appreciative of Serge Lutens' very personal creations, in particular, of Ambre Sultan and Vetiver Oriental. He confesses that he wished he had created M7 by YSL. Pellegrin also points out that he was most influenced in his work by the olfactory style and creations of Michel Almairac (one of our very own favorite perfumers here at The Scented Salamander as you may have already guessed)...

Fragrance News: Further Information on The Coffret Collector by Thierry Mugler

Aura.png

No, we are not obsessed, we are just being thorough and systematic....The website dedicated to Das Parfum by Thierry Mugler contains interesting information and descriptions in French and German of the 15 perfumes inspired by the novel. We learn, for example, that Christophe Hornetz and Christophe Laudamiel had been working on recreating some of the olfactory visions of Süskind in their spare time, as hobbies, prior to moving on to the official project.

The limited edition sets are now sold out on the French and German sites but they will launch in the US in the middle of next month and the coffrets will be shipped in December. According to Thierry Mugler Parfums, only 380 sets out of the 1500 existing ones were put aside for retail at the international level...
