Dannii Minogue, the sister of Kylie Minogue, together with her best friend fashion designer Tabitha Somerset Webb have launched a perfume called Project D which is named after their own fashion clothing line. You can read about how they met here. The twist in this case is that the fragrance can be worn classically as a whole or as broken down into its top, middle and base accords, then remixed at will. "Project D by Dannii and Tabitha signature Perfume is an enchanting perfume that has been inspired by the marriage of two very distinct styles - Dannii Minogue's signature sophisticated glamour and Tabitha Somerset Webb's rock 'n' roll edge. Beauty brand Nuxe released in 2009 a duo of organic perfumes in two concentrations, in eau de toilette and eau de parfum called Fruits du Soleil and Fruits Epicés. They are part of the wave of mainstream organic scents that is washing over the shelves of the large distribution network in France via channels such as Monoprix supermarkets and parapharmacies. Organic brand of perfume Shantara have released a new composition signed by Grasse-based Jean-Claude Gigodot. It is called Isiris and follows Rêve Etoilé and Shaman pour Homme. The brand's website which likes to offer a dramatic showcasing of their perfumes belies the preconceived notion that organic fragrances are only targeting a return-to-nature movement. Historical and aesthetic cues wrap the new scent in a storied atmosphere and if there is another type of return alluded to here, it is a return to the sources of civilization...

 French crystal maker Lalique will launch a new feminine fragrance this year called Fleur de Cristal (Crystal Flower) to celebrate the 150th anniversary of its establishment. Described as a solar floral composition centering on the graceful, crystalline and delicate note of muguet or lily of the valley, it is signed by Grasseois perfumer Raphaël Haury who also created Par Amour for Her by Clarins (2004) and Salvador Dali Agua Verde for Men (2005) as well as more niche offerings for brands such as Parfums 06130 and Parfumerie Naturelle...

 The Omani house of Amouage will release a new fragrance from December 1, 2010 in their Library Collection called Opus IV. The jus, concocted by perfumer Jacques Flori and artistic director Christopher Chong, aims to raise awareness about the ongoing pandemic of Aids / HIV plaguing the planet and will contribute 50% of its global proceeds to the National HIV / AIDS Prevention and Control Program (NAP) in Oman. Chong said,
"Our fragrances have always centered on delivering a distinct and compelling message, not just the creation of beautiful and artistic scents. With the startling number of new HIV infection cases reported globally each year, education remains a powerful and paramount instrument to prevent the spread of HIV and grant univcersal acess to HIV prevention, treatment, care and support services.  Pop singer Katy Perry has launched her debut fragrance with Purr, a scent which is meant to embody her tastes in perfume as well as her personality. The artist says she is confident Purr won't smell like anything else on the market, which may appear to be quite the bold and over-confident statement in a reality thronged with smell-alikes. At any rate, the product is a celebrity fragrance to the hilt.
