 Sean "P Diddy" Combs is launching a feminine counterpart to his best-seller fragrance Unforgivable for Men. The new perfume is called Unforgivable for Women by Sean John. It was created by perfumer David Apel and is described as a sensual creamy floral containing top notes of bergamot, orange, neroli, cassis, grapefruit, apple, cucumber, piña colada and orange flower; the heart is of jasmine, violet, muguet, freesia and cyclamen, and the drydown is of amber, tonka beans, coco de mer and vanilla tears mixed with cedar, sandalwood, oak moss, patchouli, vetiver and iris.....

 Van Cleef & Arpels will launch a new limited edition of its classic fragrance First called First Eau d'Eté in May of 2007. It is alcohol-free and is described as a fresh woodsy aldehydic perfume with notes of mandarin orange, black currant, peony, lily, white cedar, and amber. It was composed by perfumer Evelyne Boulanger. The bottle evokes the color of a branch of coral.

Rêverie Au Jardin (Day-Dreaming In/By The Garden) is the latest creation by Zurich-based independent Swiss perfumer Andy Tauer. The designer took on the challenge of working on a very common perfumery note of lavender, pervasive enough to scent all types of toiletries, betting on bringing out its less well known aspects "....ranging from herbaceous, spicy green notes to sweet, clean flowers and woody, vibrant chords." The perfume has notes of lavender (high altitude mountain lavender from France), galbanum, fir balm, bergamot, rose absolute, frankincense, ambrette seeds, orris, vetiver, tonka beans, oakmoss, vanilla, ambergris, sandalwood and cedar wood.
If Rêverie Au Jardin was initially conceived of as a study of the complex facets of lavender, the result, however, like the movement of day-dreaming itself, goes beyond that original point of focus to expand and reveal a prismatic balsamic, floral, and woody perfume that behaves like a gem carefully cut out by a lapidary master, with its multiple facets shining alternatively in the clear light of the day. The explanation lies in part in the use of a high proportion of natural ingredients as those present a multi-facetted character. For example, rose absolute, which is used in the composition, contains something like 300 different components, with olfactory nuances ranging from violet to banana and grapefruit. But it does not suffice to point out this aspect. The layering of the notes in the scent creates for me the possibility of an alchemical experience and makes me enter the realm of magic, lightly step into a fairy-tale world in which the objects are the scintillating, gem-like counterparts of ordinary stones......

In April of 2007, Issey Miyake is launching a limited-edition duo of of L'Eau D'Issey Femme and L'Eau d'Issey Homme which focuses on a green theme. 
Both flacons take on the same bamboo-shoot or Ma Cha colored green hues. The women's flacon has been decorated with an armload of wild green herbs while the men's has a more discrete decoration on its side.....

MaxMara is launching a perfume called Silk Touch this month, which is described as a fruity woody concoction. The name suggests a discrete functional skin scent. It was created by perfumer Daphné Bugey of Firmenich. It will be available in 40 ml and 90 ml flacons. Source: www.copines.ca
Parfum d'Empire, which specializes in the creations of fragrances inspired by some of the great geo-political behemoths of the past, is said to launch a trio of scents at the end of June 2007. There will be a woody orris scent inspired by the Roman empire, a blonde tobacco fougere based on the imaginings of the Indian colonial empire, and a fruity floral centering on osmanthus for the Chinese empire.  Frédéric Malle is going to launch a new perfume in May of 2007 called, yes, French Lover (do we see an influence from Etat Libre d'Orange here? See for example the humor in the name of their latest Delicious Closet Queen). Apparently, the name was retained after a female friend of Frederic Malle's exclaimed as she smelled him while greeting him "Very French Lover!". The scent was created by perfumer Pierre Bourdon. Reportedly, Frédéric Malle's initial idea for the fragrance was to compose a more robust version of Angéliques Sous La Pluie (by Jean Claude Ellena). Both the designer and nose soon moved away from the idea to create a sophisticated masculine scent: "A hyper sensual aroma, but without it being vulgar/showy".......

 Bond No9 is preparing to launch their 29th fragrance on June 1st 2007. As usual, the perfume bears the name of a New York locale, this time, Coney Island, an apt source of inspiration for a summertime fragrance. The composition of the fragrance sounds like that of a modern-day gourmand aphrodisiac. Top notes are Margarita mix, with fiery Tequila Blanco already poured in, un-humble melon that goes way beyond fruit salad, freshly ripened guava that's naughty but sweet. The heart has cinnamon in sensual mode (fougedaboud apple pie), chocolate, pour-able caramel, out to intoxicate. Base notes are decadent, un-redeemed musk, together with vanilla, cedarwood, sandalwood......

 As previously reported, Sarah Jessica Parker is going to launch her second fragrance named Covet. True to her word, she is this time launching a perfume that represents the "vixen" side of her that she was not able to express with Lovely, which represents her "well-behaved" side. She had said in the past to Chandler Burr that she regretted not being able to create a dirtier scent where Lovely was concerned. It sounds promising, don't you think?

Dolce & Gabbana are releasing a masculine counterpart to Light Blue Pour Femme, a top best-seller. It is called Light Blue Pour Homme and is described as a woody spicy scent inspired by the sensual aromas of the Mediterranean. As reported, "The fragrance is wearable and highly distinctive — it took us two to three years to develop this fragrance, because the standards of Dolce & Gabbana are very, very high,".....

Sarah Jessica Parker will launch her second perfume in September of 2007 following Lovely. It is called Covet and was created with Ann Gottlieb and Firmenich. The scent is described as a "fougère on estrogen" as fougere is traditionally considered to be a fresh aromatic masculine accord (bergamot, lavender, coumarin, geranium, oakmoss...), which gives its name to a family of perfume. Ann Gottlieb is a nose and perfume consultant well-known for her flair for producing best-sellers (Obssession, J'Adore, Euphoria, 5th Avenue....).

Reflection Pour Femme and Reflection Pour Homme are the latest creations by Amouage, a perfume house well-known for its image of luxury and the exceptional quality of their products. The Amouage perfumes seem to consistently offer a certain idea of polished cosmopolitan urbane and classic luxury but contrasted at the same time with the slightly unruly naturalness stemming from the sense of excess found in the opulence of their fragrance compositions.
