From September 2010 By Kilian will release a new unisex jasmine composition called Love and Tears, Surrender about which founder Kilian Hennessy said "Love and Tears, Surrender is the last chapter of my "Love" theme and my most personal scent." The previous fragrances in the Love collection includes Prelude to Love, Invitation; Love, Don't be Shy; Beyond Love, Prohibited. Kilian Hennessy said, "Only the Jasmine flower, with its endless spectrum of facets - citrus, green, floral and animalistic - was able to express the profusion of emotions that I wanted to communicate with this scent: the beginning of love marked with excitement, the fear of the unknown and, ultimately, the surrender to love!"....

Victoria's Secret is using the code word Bombshell to launch its new fragrance to debut during the next New York's Fashion Week. The perfume is not just about image and fantasy though as the composition has the ambition to be " the first fruity aromatic floral,"...

Mariah Carey has unveiled her new trio of perfumes Ribbon, Honey, and Mine Again to debut next month on July 1st 2010. They are all part of the Lollipop Bling concept which we made an announcement about earlier on. The story of the candy-inspired scents goes back to Carey's marriage proposal which was done with a twist by husband Nick Cannon: he put a real engagement ring in a Pop Ring.
The fragrances were designed by perfumer Laurent Le Guernec of IFF...

Yesterday in Paris, Chloé launched a new fragrance called Love, as reported by Grazia. We're not sure whether the comma is essential or not but it was repeatedly used all over the ad materials followed by the names of feminine icons. For now, I'll keep the name as being " Love, Chloé." We were just told that the perfume will launch later in the US, in about six months. The party took place at the Apicius restaurant. The fragrance spokesperson is model Raquel Zimmerman. The perfume itself plays out a cosmetic accord as it is said to be inspired by the scent of an old Coty face powder....

Fendi didn't do too well with their latest launch Palazzo which had to be discontinued only 18 months after having been introduced to market. The brand then said that the fragrance was not so much performing poorly as performing below expectations...and they did not have the patience to wait and see if it would improve, apparently. To try to redeem the name of Fendi in the world of fragrances, a new women's perfume will be launched from September 2010 called Fan di Fendi. Visibly the label is interested in making their image look less static and staid leaving classic glamor behind for a more party atmosphere...

Lady Million is the new, much anticipated release by Paco Rabanne following the top-of-the-chart successful men's version 1 Million which launched in 2008. So hooked are people on the original cologne that a 200 ml size oversized flacon was released this spring for Father's Day in France. The message of carefree high-living behind the original scent embodied by the character of a high-roller; the bottle shaped in the image of a gold ingot and the overdose of sweet comforting slightly graphite-smelling tonka in the perfume have apparently won over men - and also women as far as I am able to tell. Paradoxically, but perhaps not surprisingly, it all took place during a period of economic recession as if the fragrance stood for a reassuring aspirational dream of prosperity during leaner times. As is the case when a major fragrance-success hits, the magic is not just about the scent itself but everything else around it plus the scent all found in a seamless system of symbolic correspondences between image, bottle, story and perfume...

Niche perfume house Diptyque, which just launched a new vetiver scent Vetyverio, is preparing to introduce a novel vanilla composition this fall which takes inspiration from the spice trade and the meeting of civilizations between East and West. The tag line is " A new eau de toilette, another voyage..." Eau Duelle was created by perfumer Fabrice Pellegrin of Firmenich (see Juozas Statkevicius) and centers on two different types of vanillas, one white (Firnat Vanilla), the other dark (Bourbon Vanilla) making up a creation which is said to be a study in the contrast between light and darkness...

Estée Lauder will introduce a new companion scent to their best-seller Pleasures (1996) created by Alberto Morillas called Pleasures Bloom from July 2010. The fruity-floral scent is said to be have been updated in order to feel more contemporary and playful, more vibrant and carefree. Karyn Khoury, Senior Vice President, Corporate Fragrance Development Worldwide, The Estée Lauder Companies Inc. said, " We wanted to take the timeless core concept of pleasures - the enjoyment of life's simple pleasures as the balance to a life that is often over connected and overextended - and express it with a new level of animation and vibrancy that reflects the world we live in today,"....

Yves Rocher will introduce a new fragrance as part of their more select collection entitled Secrets d'Essences which year after year showcases a qualitative natural perfumery material benefiting from careful selection, state-of-the-art extraction methods and a famous perfumer's signature. After Voile d'Ambre (2005), Rose Absolue (2006), Iris Noir (2007) and Tendre Jasmin (2008), the brand will release Vanille Noire (Black Vanilla) from September 2010 in France. The composition borrows from the olfactory qualities of three different types of vanilla...

Nina Ricci will launch a new variation of the original Nina (2006) from mid-August 2010 called Nina L'Elixir. Penhaligon's will release two new perfumes in their Anthology series from August 9th, 2010 called Jubilee Bouquet and Zizonia. The collection has been majoritarily used to showcase, quite unexpectedly at first but famously by now, modern reformulations of classics by the house signed by perfumer Bertrand Duchaufour. The two new fragrances are said to be unsigned this time. They are the 7th and 8th scents in the Anthology. 2011 will see the conclusion of the series with four last perfumes. Zizonia was first created in 1930. It is described as a "mysterious oriental."....

Jennifer Lopez who recreated the 21st century version of the celebrity-fragrance business by encouraging everyone to jump on the bandwagon so easy and popular it seemed is still a veritable motor engine for this section of the fragrance industry having sold more than $1 billion worth of fragrance bottles in the course of 16 launches. Her latest creation is called Love and Glamour to be introduced in the fall of 2010. The only thing the singer and actress is a bit critical of in the context of a booming business for most however is that too many celebrities join the game only for the money. She reveals that as far as she is concerned she invests the venture with authenticity and passion. She also explains her method which is to always look for the creation of a recognizable perfume signature. "I go back and say things like, 'Can we push the sandalwood a little bit
more, can we make a tiny bit more sexy?' To translate that into actual
chemistry is a difficult thing. Then they go back and say, 'What does
she mean by sexy?' And I'm like, 'You know if you [take] that little
piece that smells a little bit like wood but has a little bit of musk?...

American niche perfume brand Parfums Delrae with a definite Francophile slant and a foot in Grasse founded by DelRae Roth have launched their 7th perfume called Coup de Foudre (Love at First Sight).
