Maxim's de Paris is going to launch two collections of scented candles respectively called Sem and Belle Epoque. Sem will debut at Bergdorf Goodman in October 2007 and both lines will be more widely distributed after that. The first one is inspired by the art work of artist Georges Goursat also known as Sem, who used to draw caricatures of the restaurant's patrons and the second collection pays homage to the Belle Epoque heritage of Maxim's founded in 1893.......

Strip is the latest perfume creation by upscale whimsical lingerie brand Agent Provocateur founded in 1994 by Serena Rees and Joe Corres; the latter is the son of Vivienne Westwood another high priestess of sexiness. Agent Provocateur does not hesitate to advertise themselves as “The most erotic lingerie in the world” and it appears futile to try to argue with them after you have glimpsed at their catalog, which short of being X-rated is definitely under the auspices of Venus. They even succeeded in getting banned from the airwaves (see Kylie Minogue’s banned commercial for the brand). So when they decided to use the image of the stripper in this particular case one could anticipate that they would not only talk the talk but walk the walk.......

British Model Katie Price also known as Jordan has unveiled her debut perfume called Stunning. "One spray and you're Stunning!" she promised. "It's taken 14 months to create, as I wanted something floral and feminine but still strong. It smells beautiful and I think a lot of women will love it just like I do."
It is said to have hints of jasmine and mandarin....

Jo Malone will launch a new cologne in their library of scents in October of 2007. It is called White Jasmine & Mint and is described as offering an elegant yet eccentric style, meant to evoke "...a sun-drenched morning in an English country garden." This promises to be a welcome contrast in the midst of the fall season......

Wild Honeysuckle by Dawn Spencer Hurwitz is a new perfume from her Essense Oils Collection. We had the opportunity to recently discover her creations and we can only report that all the perfumes we tried are very good quality, which is an invitation to explore her many varied compositions that show her love of the natural olfactory facets of the world and search for unusual accords. We have been offered a preview of Tamarind & Paprika, one of her upcoming holidays scents, and will report later on it.
For this week, we picked Wild Honeysuckle as the Sexy Scent of the Week as it evokes a date on a sultry summer evening very well, while conveying a sense of leisure and holidays thanks to its relaxed, optimistic feel.......

L'Occitane en Provence is offering a new collection of perfumes based on scents of the Mediterranean flora called Notre Flore (Our Flora). They evoke an ideal landscape of kindred Mediterranean cultures and natural environment replete with affinities. They also seemingly pay homage to writer Jean Giono, once studied by L'Occitane's founder Olivier Baussan, as the caps on the flacons are poetically reminiscent of compasses because - and we seem to hear Giono tell it himself - "in Provence, the winds carry the tales". Manosque where the L'Occitane factory is located is also the birthplace of Giono and intimately linked with his work and life. The collection comprises four fragrances: Myrte (Myrtle), Néroli, Cèdre (Cedar), and Iris.......

When fashion designers Badgley and Mischka were on a trip in India, one of the sights and smells that left a memorable impression on them was a moon garden, that is a magical place where only night-blooming flowers are planted and pollinated by night butterflies. They decided to transcribe that experience into a fragrance, a limited edition due out in October of 2007, which is called Fleurs de Nuit (Flowers of the Night). The scent was composed by Rodrigo Flores-Roux of Givaudan........

It is called Outrageous! and will be officially released in October of 2007. The perfume was composed by Sophia Grojsman of IFF. It is described as a "citrusy, oceanic, unisex" scent and is meant to evoke an "....androgynous, super sexy scent, something like a good pair of jeans.".....

Demeter, which is a reference in terms of realistic scents aiming to recapture the familiar or not so familiar smells that are part of our world, each composition being like an olfactory snapshot of reality, has come up with a new fragrance for its Fragrance Library called Crayon. After Play-Doh and the Jelly Bean series, this is another fun and nostalgic, for some, perfume dedicated to the world of childhood, Demeter’s Crayon smells just like that new box of Crayolas® you opened on your first day of school........

As previously announced, from the venerable, upscale, and well-loved Italian brand Acqua Di Parma created in 1916, comes next month a new perfume called Colonia Intensa, which will represent their first historic foray into the explicit masculine categorization of a scent. This launch comes within a market context where masculine customers are perceived as a new driving force in perfume sales encouraging a neo-virile trend in the design of fragrances, which are being trimmed of their ambiguous, unisex references......

Following a previous announcement, Puig-owned Carolina Herrera has now unveiled their new women's fragrance called CH. Interestingly, the scent, composed by Olivier Cresp and Rosendo Mateu, does not claim to be innovative. Rather, Puig announces up-front that it will be like taking a stroll down memory lane as the perfume "... brings together notes from all the designer’s previous scents, thereby creating an olfactory collection of memories," according to the company......
