 Jean-Michel Duriez, the in-house perfumer for Rochas is inspired by the original muse of the house, Hélène Rochas, the third and last wife of founder Marcel Rochas, to create a perfume called Muse de Rochas. To her was initially dedicated the fragrance called Femme de Rochas in 1944. At the same time, the perfumer turned to several feminine icons among which are named Juliette Greco, Brigitte Bardot, Lou Andréas Salomé, Yoko Ono, Jeanne Hébuterne which interest the nose for their power of seduction and their capacity to be trend-setters...

Yves Rocher launched a new limited-edition Eau de Toilette for summer 2011 called Jardin des Nymphes (Garden of the Nymphs.) It is housed in the same kind of bottle as that of Eau de Toilette Naturelle which resembles a pebble. Little information is put forth regarding the notes, but we are told in the ad copy that it is a perfume "full of contrasts which envelops you with its floral and aquatic notes. Waves of aromas make your summer vibrate / feel vibrant (my translation)..."...

 Trios of perfumes describing the triple facets of a woman have become somewhat of a popular standard lately. Take Benefit Cosmetics which looked at threesomes who could all be you with Crescent Row 1 and Crescent Row 2. Or more recently Fresh with the limited-edition Eat, Pray, Love. Then check Avon Reese Witherspoon Expressions which even more intriguingly does exactly the same thing, i.e., Love, Live and Laugh, apparently in that order, as the new Skinn Cosmetics Live, Love, Laugh, in that other order. LIV GRN, a label developing organic tee-shirts printed with ethical, green messages, has released the fragrance versions of their fashion-with-a-conscience approach. Or as they prefer to put it, "eco-savvy" tack. While the scents are not all-natural and all-organic or eco-certified per se (we verified), they can still claim to be "biodegradable, sustainable, non-toxic" as well as free of a number of black-listed ingredients such as Phtalates, Sulfates and Triclosan (we're sparing you the ugly until the review.) Cerruti are preparing to launch a new flanker to the original 1881 introduced in 1990 called Cerruti 1881 Fairplay. The advertising campaign is fronted by French singer and actor Marc Lavoine who was signed up last year as the new face of the fragrance. The brand this time wants to explore a different brand of masculinity and a more casual mood.  Karl Lagerfeld has partnered with his publisher Steidl to create a perfume inspired by the smell of books called Paper Passion. A well-known bibliophile who owns around 300 000 books, Lagerfeld readily confesses that he cannot refrain from buying more tomes.
